Everywhere You Look

Hello Internet World!

The Cross Products have arrived in California! We’ve been enjoying our time here so far as well as having irrational, overly emotional reactions to the gorgeous weather here. Our first day was dedicated to adjusting and settling in while we saw some of the sights of San Francisco, hung out, and sung casually in the park near Ghirardelli Square.   DSC_2233

(Disclaimer: The MIT Cross Products do not, in any way, shape, or form, condone illegal street singing in urban environments.)

While we contemplated transferring to Stanford, we drove back to the house of the grandparents of our newest member, Barry McNamara, where we are staying for the week. There was a small McNamara family gathering and we had the privilege to sing for them and have dinner together.

On Sunday we had the chance to serve at Polly Lal’s church, River of Life, at the Junior High and Young Adult services. In the Junior high service we had three members share their testimonies with the students there as well as sing some songs that highlighted the themes of those testimonies. At the Young Adult service we participated in the service and sang a few songs for our contemporaries. After the sermon we hung around for a little while to talk with people. Aaaand after a quick stop for some boba (!), we headed back to SF to meet and sing for Polly’s cousin and his family.

An impromptu Frozen sing-along may or may have not occurred…

Afterwards we all grabbed some dinner and hung out in the park overlooking the city.

Our first couple of days in California make me excited to see what God has planned for us this week! Please continue praying for us as we enter into this week. Pray for group unity and reliance on the Holy Spirit, that God would grow us and teach us as we serve others and share His love and the gospel, that everywhere we look, we would see God moving in this place. That’s it for now! Be sure to check back in during the rest of this week for updates!

In Christ,
